Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gurdaspur organized an awareness camp under Swachhta Pakhwara at adopted village Bhangwan on 20.10.2016 in which scientists of KVK created awareness among the participants about the importance of cleanliness, ill effects of parthenium, water conservation, and importance of nutrition garden and safe use of pesticides. The village sarpanch along with his Panchayat members enthusiastically participated in this camp. Apart from this cleanliness drive was also carried by the participants as well as MNREGA workers to eradicate parthenium, cannabis and other unwanted materials. In this camp participants also took oath to keep their surroundings clean. In continuity of Swachhta Pakhwada, KVK, Gurdaspur visited adopted village Mastkot on 21.10.2016. With the help of villagers as well as school staff a cleanliness drive was taken at the school campus. The participnats were awared about the importance of cleanliness, ill effects of parthenium, water onservation, importance of nutrition garden and safe use of pesticides. In addition to this awareness camp for farm women's was held where demonstration on use of solar cooker was conducted as well as they were made aware regarding importance of health and hygiene for combating various diseases. KVK, Gurdaspur in collaboration with Institute of Agriculture, Gurdaspur on 24.10.2016 apprised students about their role in keeping campus clean. The students were made aware about the disposal of garbage and cleanliness of classrooms. It was emphasized to the students to develop habit of punctuality and good manners which leads them to build up positive thinking and gets success in every sphere of life.
